Haseen Dillruba: Taapsee Pannu Emerges As The New Force To Be Reckoned With
Taapsee Pannu, who recently appeared in Haseen Dillruba opposite Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane, is slowly emerging as the next big star and here’s a look at its proof
Good acting and impactful performances is nothing new to the repertoire of Taapsee Pannu. She has given us films like Pink, Naam Shabana, Mulk and Badla, where she has proved the mettle of her histrionics. But ever since last year, there has been a huge change in the actress’ career.
Taapsee’s acting was never in question, but her performance in Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad proved to be a gamechanger. The actress not only showed her versatility but her financial viability as well with the film. She asserted her capability to shoulder a film on her own shoulders, and she got the validation for it when she received her first Filmfare Award for the Best Leading Actress this year for Thappad.
Taapsee’s commercial and critical viability has increased so much especially over the last one year, that now any project that she is associated with is assumed to be high on content. The Covid pandemic did play a spoilsport for her future releases after Thappad, and even cut short the run of the Anubhav Sinha-directorial, but when she returned to the screens this week with Haseen Dillruba, her prowess was still intact and as impressive.
The actress has left a lasting impression in the Vinil Mathew-directorial opposite Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane, and is garnering praises for her portrayal from all corners. And the actress also seems to have her kitty full with a range of characters in her future projects.
Her upcoming line up will start with Akarsh Khurana’s Rashmi Rocket, where she plays an athlete from Kutch, and will be seen opposite Priyanshu Painyuli. She wrapped up the shoot for it in December last year, before moving on to Looop Lapeta with Tahir Raj Bhasin. The character poster of the film promises another feather in her versatile acting cap. She also moves back to her roots in the South for a project this year.
After having multiple projects in 2021 in her line up, Taapsee also has 2022 already set with a couple of promising films, starting with her reunion with her Manmarziyaan director Anurag Kashyap and Thappad co-star Pavail Gulati in Dobaara, followed by her portrayal of Indian cricketer Mithali Raj in her biopic, Shabaash Mithu, for which the actress has been sharing glimpses of her training on her social media for a long time.
For a while now, Taapsee has been a personification of every aspiring actor in the Hindi film industry who dreams to achieve success and stardom one day. She is the living proof of resilience and hard work bearing fruit in the end. She has been rumoured to be starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Rajkumar Hirani’s next as well and she has gone on to deny it multiple times too, but with the talent she possesses, that is another feather in her cap that she deserves to have.
